The film observes three women in their everyday life: Adelina (70), Martina (40) and Adela (20). They work in a bistro at the famous market that is the economic heart of Juchitán, Oaxaca. The women cook, trade, look after their elders, get lovesick and know how to party, but capitalism and machismo are also ever present in Juchitán, making for a field of tension.

Sonja Aufderklamm
She studied Theatre, Film and Media Sciences in Vienna and Berlin, and Cinematography at the German Film and TV Academy in Berlin. She worked as a camera assistant, electrician and, among others, as a second camera on Andreas Horvath's Lillian. She is now a cinematographer and lives in Berlin and Vienna. I got to go to Juchitán is her graduation film.
